The overall aim of HATICE was to develop a comprehensive, innovative internet-based intervention strategy for optimisation of management of elderly with multiple cardiovascular risk factors or diseases to improve healthy aging. In HATICE, this widely applicable and generic intervention strategy is immediately put to the test of an investigator-initiated randomised controlled trial.

To this end HATICE has been divided into three phases, which are closely related and which interact with each other:

Phase 1
Development of a shared data platform for optimisation of pooled data from different RCTs.

Phase 2
Development of a generic internet-based intervention platform to optimise treatment of elderly with multiple cardiovascular diseases and risk factors.

Phase 3
Randomised controlled clinical trial for optimisation of management of elderly with multiple cardiovascular diseases and risk factors.
